If you’re looking for recipe inspiration with Mother’s Day approaching, I’ve got some treats ideal for making for your mum, or perhaps for printing out and casually leaving for your partner to find!
These beauties are a mixture of my own recipes, with one from Lucy Lovell and Thane Prince too. I was assigned with making them to be photographed by Sharron and prop styled by Becs for the Good Food Channel website Mother’s Day special.
Fingers of buttery shortbread with a zesty kick, drizzled with delicate Earl Grey flavoured icing. They are absolutely delicious with an afternoon cuppa, so ideal for taking in a tin to your mum’s house for a cosy afternoon together. This is one of my favourite pictures to come out of the Good Food shoots I do with Sharron, it just looks so dreamy!
Chunky, chewy and with that addictive sweet and salty hit that I love so much. Package up in a funky box, tie with twine and you’ve got a brilliant gift. The cookies keep well for a good 3-5 days after baking.
Lucy Lovell‘s zesty bake is packed with bright tropical flavours that will make for an uplifting afternoon tea. I adore the perfume that springs out of passionfruit when you cut them in half. They might not be the prettiest of fruits, but their flavour is simply stunning and makes this loaf cake an absolute winner.
If you want a recipe that kids can make and have lots of fun with, then this is it. Not too many ingredients, they can choose which shapes they’d like to use and get thoroughly mucky drizzling the melted chocolate everywhere!
Mums will love receiving a jar of this zingy raspberry curd. It’s such a gorgeous shade of soft dusky pink and you can bling up the jar with labels and ribbons too. It tastes unbelievably good slathered across freshly toasted and buttered crumpets… needless to say the specimens in this picture got scoffed rapid-fire once the shot was in the can!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures from the shoot and have found some inspiration. Do your kids bake you special treats on Mother’s Day? Perhaps you get breakfast in bed? Let me know what your favourite treats have been!

Thanks for sharing Katie. Fabulous pictures Sharron. I have to make that raspberry curd, and a choc chip pretzel cookie would go down a treat right now!

Those cookies are dangerously addictive Lucy… and yes, the curd rules! I still have a few jars left if you fancy some?!

What a beautiful collection of recipes and photos that are gorgeous. I agree the earl grey shortbread with lemon icing look amazing but for me the best gift would be the chic chip pretzel cookies. Always salty and sweet for me!
