It was out in the countryside of Hong Kong (yes, there is some, or at least there was 30 years ago when we had the picnic). It was a beautiful day, a lovely shady spot with a view of the sea and islands, there were lots of us and we all shared the food we had taken, a mixture of British, Chinese and Nepalese picnic foods, all washed down with ice cold beer.

We took the kids to Chester zoo for day and we took a picnic. As we didnt want to carry it around with us all day. we left it in the car, so at lunch time we headed back to the car for the food. The kids were very hungry, so we ended up having our picnic in the boot of the car. The kids thought it was great and still remember it now.

Strangely it was a picnic in the park where a dog came and stole our sausage rolls! Everything was perfect other than that and we always laugh when we look back. Definitely a day we will all remember.

A few weeks ago we took a picnic basket on a random walk and ended up sitting down in a field in the middle of nowhere to eat. It was great fun!
