A few summers ago when my friends and I took all our kids to the beach. It was a gorgeous day and we have a fab time.
we went to a little town called Broadway where we found a field not far from High Street, on a warm sunny day it seemed like the best place with the best company to be!

It was out in the countryside of Hong Kong (yes, there is some, or at least there was 30 years ago when we had the picnic). It was a beautiful day, a lovely shady spot with a view of the sea and islands, there were lots of us and we all shared the food we had taken, a mixture of British, Chinese and Nepalese picnic foods, all washed down with ice cold beer.

On the beach at Southwold with my husband and two children. It was our first picnic on the beach and it was a perfect day.
We took the kids to Chester zoo for day and we took a picnic. As we didnt want to carry it around with us all day. we left it in the car, so at lunch time we headed back to the car for the food. The kids were very hungry, so we ended up having our picnic in the boot of the car. The kids thought it was great and still remember it now.
I remember one Easter we went to Castleward it was lovely and warm we sat on a little bench talking and sorting the picnic out and some clowns on stilts came down we went over to see them when we got back the donkey had stuck its head over the fence and devoured our lunch

The best picnic I’ve been on is with my family a few years ago. We visited a little seaside twon and had our picnic on the grass by the beach – it was beautiful.

Best picnic I have ever been on was in the summer holidays all the family went to the local forest for a huge picnic! Was so much fun and the kids had a great time exploring.

At Chatsworth, they have a members’ summer fair every year in the grounds, with bands playing. It’s brilliant!

My favourite picnic was in the New Forest, sitting on tree trunks and enjoyed lovely food, followed by a walk through the trees to see deer.

I went to a local park with my daughter when she was 2 and we had a picnic. Within a couple of minutes a duck had come to check us out. My daughter fed this duck her entire sandwich, she though it was hilarious!

We took a picnic to Cosford Air Show last year – it was fab eating sausage rolls and watching the aeroplanes.

when we lived in Abu Dhabi we used to go “wadi bashing” where we would drive off-road to a seasonal river. We had some lovely picnics at shaded pools which retain water all year round.

A first date at Fleet Ponds on a beautiful summers day. She pulled me out of the pond when I fell in and five years later she is still looking after me as my Wife!
We planned a large family picnic at a showground one summer and it poured with rain. Half of the picnic was eaten in two cars, passing plates through windows etc and the other half was eaten back at home on the living room floor with hot coffee and towels, but the kids absolutely loved it and still talk about it now!

My best picnic was in Homestead Park in York with about 25 extended family members – everyone brought food to share and toys for the kids and the weather was fantastic.

imprompu ones rock! In the days before kids, we were in Italy and travelling on a budget- we got bread, fruit, cheese and wine on the way to Pompeii one morning and ended up having a picnic in the shade of a knarled old tree overlooking the ruins. It was fab 🙂
