I’m back on screen livening up the usual weeknight bolognese with a handful of frozen Birds Eye peas, something that lots of you have been doing for years i’m sure. But what else do you put them in?

In the latest take of this ad Marion McNamara has tweeted her idea of adding some peas into chicken noodle soup.

If I’m short of time and the fridge is looking empty, then a simple egg fried rice with a generous handful of frozen peas is a store cupboard winner, and ideal for using up lurking leftovers.

For a quick and easy dip to take on a picnic i’ll quickly cook some frozen peas and whizz them up in the blender with a mixture of cream cheese, feta, lemon zest and mint leaves. SO good!

Birds Eye are keen to find out how YOU use frozen peas in your cooking. So give my commercial a watch and then tweet @BirdsEyeUK with your tips to #MixUpYourMenu.

You can find out more about the campaign on the Birds Eye Website

Disclosure: I am working with Birds Eye to promote their Mix Up Your Menu campaign and will be sharing my ads and recipes over the coming months with you here in Feeding Boys.

Once a week I use a pasta and sauce combo to get a quick dinner on the table after late extra-curricular activities.

I liven up a spinach and ricotta tortellini with marscapone tomato sauce with a handful of frozen peas and top with pan fried pancetta and parmesan.

    Delicious!

Did you ever taste them with cottage cheese with shahi gravy? the Indian way? It’s so delicious.
