Father’s Day on June 19th is zooming towards us and as usual it’s really hard to think of what gift to get. Men are notoriously hard to buy for and there’s not always a great deal of inspirational stuff on offer in the shops either.

    My Dad deserves this, as he never treats himself. He does everything for me, my mum and my two sisters…even though we’re all adults now. He’s 78 and still works hard and has never let me down.
    I’m a single parent and he has been a brilliant Father figure to my daughter and a great role model. I adore him and he’s my hero…I just wish he’d take some time out for himself occasionally. I would love to give him this, he’d be so pleased. He always tells me off if I spend my money on him so, this way I could give him something without him feeling guilty.

    Despite the fact that in our short lives my siblings and I have suffered the loss of both our mother and later our stepmother, we are fortunate that Dad has always been there for us.     My Dad deserves to win this hamper because he never gets anything nice for himself. He’s always helping out me and my two sisters, even though we’re adults now. He does my gardening for me, even at the age of 78 and he won’t let me pay someone to do it instead (I’m not able do it). He has the energy of someone half his age and he never stops. He laid my sister’s patio for her a few weeks ago and he fitted my other sister’s kitchen. We all tell him to slow down and take a break but he won’t hear of it.
    He won’t let us buy him anything either, as he says it’s a waste spending money on him. We try every year to get him something nice but he won’t accept anything, as says he feels guilty because we’ve spent our money. With this, he’d have to take it, as it won’t have cost anything .
    I adore my Dad…he’s my hero. He’s been a Father figure to my daughter, as I’m a single parent and he’s a fantatsic role model. I know everyone thinks they have the best Dad in the world but mine truly is. He has never let me down, and still gives me a big hug when I see him every week. Even at 44, I’m still a Daddy’s girl because he’s a wonderful man and Father.

He worked 7am-7pm Monday to Saturday, and 7am – 4pm on Sunday so he could pay for our house before he retired, so my Mum wouldn’t have to worry.     My OH deserves to win this as he is a great dad to our 7 year old daughter, Money is a little tight at the moment so he works long hours Monday to Friday and i work Saturday and Sunday as support worker in the hospital, When it comes to the weekend he takes great care of our daughter whilst doing DIY, gardening, cleaning out the rabbits and cooking the most wonderful roast dinner for when I get home on a Sunday, he never spends any money on himself and the little bit of money he got for his birthday he is saving in the hopes of paying for a few days in a caravan at the coast this year so it would be great to give him a treat.

    My daughter’s Dad deserves to win because he actually delivered her on his own without any medical assistance after I had a surprisingly quick labour lasting only 20 minutes! He just had time to google “how to deliver a baby” on his iPhone before our daughter decided to make her entrance into the world! I was absolutely terrified but he kept his cool and took control of the situation. Lisbeth is 5 months old now and doing fine.     Dad deserves to win this hamper because he constantly gets told off for eating everyone else’s food out of the cupboards and fridge! He always asks ‘why do you buy chocolate / cake / biscuits / cereal, etc, etc, etc if I’m not allowed to eat it?’ We always tell him it’s not so much the fact that he eats stuff, it’s more about the fact that he puts the empty pack back in the cupboard so we don;t restock because we think there is still food in there! He should have a hamper of food so he can eat as much as he likes and put empty packs back in the hamper without anyone telling him off!

    Where would I be without my Dad ? Last year my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Her life has been constantly in and out of hospital. In terms of support, reassurance and love he has been absolutely fantastic. I can call upon him at any time of the night. He does not hesitate to jump in the car to drive us straight the hospital, even though he works full time and is 62 years old. I am very proud to call him my Dad.
