Win stuffed leg of lamb for Easter

March 8, 2012 by Katie Bryson

Stuffed leg of lamb from Pipers Farm

Stuffed leg of lamb from Pipers Farm

If you’re looking for a fuss-free main course for your Easter lunch then Pipers Farm  have got it covered. Their boneless half leg of lamb comes with a choice of home-made stuffings which also help make a gorgeous sauce at the end.

A leaner, finer grained meat than shoulder, the joint serves 5 people and is worth £30.

The lambs sold by Pipers Farm are all grown slowly to natural maturity on their mother’s milk and grass in Dartmoor and Exmoor.

All the stuffings are home-made  and perfectly complement the flavour of the lamb:

  • Apricot and Hazelnut – made with apricots, hazelnuts, peaches, fresh herbs and cumin seeds.
  • Pesto – made with fresh basil, parmesan, cashew nuts, garlic and olive oil.
  • Coriander and Garlic – made with fresh coriander, freshly ground coriander and fresh garlic and with a coating of crushed coriander seeds.
  • Rosemary and Garlic – a classic combination of flavours with fresh rosemary leaves and fresh garlic.

WIN WIN WIN!

Pipers Farm are offering one of these delicious legs of lamb worth £30 as a prize to one lucky Feeding Boys reader.
You get to choose your stuffing and the lamb will be delivered in time for Easter.

Easter Lunch is always after I do an Easter Egg hunt for the kids, event though they no longer believe in the Easter Bunny…….we still enjoy doing it. Then it will be all of us sat down at the table to tuck into hubbys favourite of Lamb. This year it will be special as hubby is here with us, usually he is away with the Army. x

We will be getting the whole family together for the first time in 2012. Due to family illnesess & children at university we haven’t been able to do this. We will have an easter egg hunt that has been a tradition for the past 18 years and hope that our 9 mth old Jack Russell doesn’t sniff all the eggs out first.

My mum always has the family round for an Easter Dinner – just like at Christmas! There are 15 grandchildren under 8 so it is manic! To keep them occupied and out of the kitchen, me ad my sister always organise an Easter Egg hunt around the garden – but the men supervise the children whilst they egg hunt so me and my sister can help mum! (We make the clues fairly hard so it takes them ages lol!)

Our family has become even more extended in the last year so there’ll be loads of high chairs around the Easter table – eek! We have a tradition of the older kids going for a walk down the country lane and through a (sympathetic!) farmer’s field to collect wild flowers for the table.

I will make lunch special as we are celebrating ‘en masse’ – all the family will be there plus cousins families but each family thinks it will be just theirs not the extended lot.(let’s hope for good weather so we can have beef, lamb and chicken kebabs on the BBQ outside – so much easier!). 30 of us. Oh joy!!!

Beautiful little book the audience were all given Beautiful little book the audience were all given at last night’s performance of #Here from @curious.monkey_ at @northern_stage. Such a powerful performance from the talented cast bringing together individual stories of what it means to seek sanctuary in the North East, the friendships that are forged and the spark of hope that refuses to be snuffed out. With the plight of refugees so visible right now, the timing of this performance was impeccable. #RefugeesWelcome #togetherwithrefugees🧡 #StoryCollectors
