Win mermaid deep roasting duo

October 26, 2011 by Katie Bryson

I’ve always had a bit of a problem with my roasting dishes and baking sheets, after a while the surface starts peeling off and they look battered and food sticks to them.

Then the people at Mermaid Bakeware got in touch to see if I’d like to try out their range. I didn’t really hesitate… er yes please!

I’ve been hugely impressed with the quality of the materials used – really strong and solid and food glides off effortlessly after cooking on them. When you use the oven as often as I do, you need a real workhorse set of trays and sheets.

So to share the love I’m giving away a fabulous Mermaid Bakeware Deep Roasting Duo to one lucky reader. Perfect for your Sunday Roast, even better for your Christmas Dinner!

***This competition is now closed – no more entries please***

The prize:

One hard anodised aluminium deep roasting duo worth RRP £33.75

Dish: 26cm x 20cm x 8cm
Tray: 27cm x 20cm x 1cm

My favourite roast dinner would have to be our Christams roast turkey dinner with all the extras- pigs in blankets, homemade stuffing, croquet potatoes and roast, sprouts with pancetta and bacon, yum yum. Could eat it right now!

    October 26, 2011 at 9:02 am

My favourite is probably the simplest, a roast chicken, just roasted with butter on the skin a la Simon Hopkinson, with roast potatoes and savoy cabbage…. stock with the leftovers to make risottos, and the meat goes into both risottos, croquettes and salads.

I love all roasts – just greedy, I guess! Probably the fave is roast chicken with all the trimmings. And there’s the added bonus of cold meat for sandwiches, pies or simply in a sauce – then the stock or broth from the carcass.

My favourite is roast Lamb, with cauliflower and carrots and minted garden peas, crisy roast potatoes are a must and if we are feeling particularly greedy some Yorkshire pud’s are added to the mix. As with all roast dinners, the gravy is the most important thing, always use the juices from the meat, with Lamb I also stir in some mint jelly. With Pork it would be cider and with beef some red wine and or whole grain mustard.

My favorite roast is chicken with a herb and garlic butter under the skin and rubbed on the top bacon covering it and cooked in a lovely roasting tin. With all the veggies, mash, roast potatoes, stuffing – the works! Hungry now!

I could really do with these pans! Mine are peeling just how you describe. I do a huge variety of roasts so pans don’t usually last me very long. I have a roast chicken Moroccan style in the oven as I type. 🙂

Beautiful little book the audience were all given Beautiful little book the audience were all given at last night’s performance of #Here from @curious.monkey_ at @northern_stage. Such a powerful performance from the talented cast bringing together individual stories of what it means to seek sanctuary in the North East, the friendships that are forged and the spark of hope that refuses to be snuffed out. With the plight of refugees so visible right now, the timing of this performance was impeccable. #RefugeesWelcome #togetherwithrefugees🧡 #StoryCollectors
