Win green SodaStream Fizz worth £120

February 27, 2012 by Katie Bryson

SodaStream Fizz in green

I’m super excited to be giving away  one of these amazing SodaStreams. I’m currently testing a red one out in my kitchen which I’ll be publishing a review of shortly.

As a supporting partner of Climate Week 2012, SodaStream has launched a stylish limited edition Green Fizz drinksmaker. Climate Week (12–18 March 2012) is Britain’s biggest climate change campaign.

SodaStream encourages ‘pre-cycling’; avoiding the high usage of plastic bottles in the first instance and saving the need to recycle after use.

One SodaStream reusable carbonating bottle can save up to 2,000 bottles and cans, plus it reduces the energy wasted by transporting billions of litres of ready-to-drink soft drinks.

Plastic bottle waste is an often over-looked environmental issue, and reducing the number of single-use bottles and cans is just one of the ways that people can help to combat climate change.

WIN WIN WIN!

Get your hands on the limited edition Green Fizz SodaStream worth £119.99 plus a bottle each of the Clear Plus range of flavours:

·         Grapefruit-Pomegranate: with added Vitamin C, an essential nutrient and antioxidant

·         Lemongrass-Forest Fruits: infused with Ginseng, which is renowned for improving physical and cognitive performance

·         Green Tea Lychee: contains Green Tea extract, which helps with detox and weight management

We had a brown and cream Sodastream with glass bottles when i was a child. My Mum and Dad couldn’t always afford the syrups so we would use cordial instead ! But sometimes they would buy cream soda and i loved to top it with cornish icecream as a treat 🙂

My favorite memory was the feeling of excitement every time the advert used to come on and always begging for a soda stream but unfortunately was never given one.

My nanna used to make cream soda drinks from the soda stream and put a big blog of ice cream in it. Yummy!

I always remember that my mum wouldn’t buy me one…saying that the soda bottle syphon thingy from the drink cabinet and some orange squash works just as well. No mum, it didn’t! To this day I still want one lol

A childhood memory of SodaStream is the ‘farty’ noise it made when you pressed the gas button. Used to (& still does!) make me giggle everytime 🙂

We had a white and orange soda stream and we thought it was amazing as we never normally drank fizzy drinks. Mum and Dad are moving in a couple of weeks and they are currently sorting out 40 years of belongings and they found it in the back of the cupboard and it brought back so many happy memories!

  9. Rachel Simons says

    February 27, 2012 at 11:23 am

Sodastreams were a special treat when we went to our nans house,we we were kids, but we were allowed to push the fizz button just had to watch her do it, she had loads of different flavours to choose from. I loved that when I was about 10 or 12 she let me fizz my own, it made me feel so grown up lol x

  80. Arabella Bazley says

    March 2, 2012 at 6:12 pm

I was never really a cream soda/coke float kind of girl, we were brought up on milk and squash. Then one of my early loves came along and used to down pint after pint of fizzy drinks so that my father’s cupboard always ran dry which used to annoy him intensely (my father that is!). So I splashed out and bought my boyfriend a SodaStream which he was really thrilled with until I told him he could not take it home as it was to stay at my house so he could have all the fizzy drinks he wanted whilst there. Needless to say the SodaStream lasted a lot longer than the boyfriend! A couple of decades later and I read somewhere about Jamie Oliver doing something fabulous to cheap plonk using a SodaStream so I Googled and find nowadays they have a huge range of flavours to suit all tastes (I still detest cola!) and green is definitely my colour!

  81. Pauline Wilson says

My friend next door had one of the first Soda Streams back in the 70s. I used to love going round his house to play. I just thought the way it made flat drinks fizzy was pure magic! We got one for our kids in the 90s and the magic was still there. I’d love to win this futuristic looking Soda Stream just for the look on the grandkids faces when they see the magic of Soda Stream creating pop right in front of their eyes for the first time! Whether you’re 5 or 85, the magic is still the same.

I remeber in the 70s when I was only about 7 or 8 we had a one, cant rember the colours, but rember the bottles along with the flvouring we were only allowed the orange or lime. But I remember that me and my brother sneaked some coke flavouring from one off his friends and we tried to make some, in the middle of the night, unfortuanely we never put the lid on to shake it and put to much gas in it. I think the telling off we got the next day went like this….. HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO EMPTY ALL THE GAS, EVERY SURFACE IS STICKY WITH THIS BROWN STUFF…we had used all the bottle of flavouring we were in a loot of bother and the mess was every where on the ceiling still laugh about this and of course I get the blame that it was all my fault,

My favourite memory was the advert, alas never had one, always wanted one, we had the round greeny gold soda syphon that you put the little gascannister in to carbonate drinks, do remember the advert though and used to sing to its,

    “Sodastream, big or small,
Get busy with the fizzy, short or tall.
Create a fizzy flavour with water from the tap,
Press the magic button, shake it – just like that
Fix a little mixer, add a little dash,
No trouble with the bubbles, splish a little splash,
It’s an endless stream so get busy with the fizzy.
Sodastream – that’s fizzy!” 🙂 – now how many of you sung along with that …lol x

This was over 20 years ago though and back then they were never really very nice drinks! It was one of the original one’s in brown and cream that you had to pull a handle down a few times to add the ‘fizz’ to the bottle! The bottles were also glass and not plastic! I used to absolutely love deciding which flavour to have and would often ‘mix my own concoctions’ with different syrups! Beautiful little book the audience were all given Beautiful little book the audience were all given at last night’s performance of #Here from @curious.monkey_ at @northern_stage.
