Cranberry and Blackberry Breakfast Smoothie on feedingboys.co.uk

Who’s up for an energising Breakfast Smoothie? I’ve created this jewel-bright drink packed with Ocean Spray® Wholeberry™ cranberry juice, blitzed up with fresh blackberries, oats and kale – it’s thick, zingy and the most stunning deep purpley pink colour.

It was a very necessary start to my day after being laid out with a bit of sickness at the weekend caused by eating something that had been sat in the fridge for just that little bit too long. Yeeeeeshk. Anyway it’s left me feeling washed out and in need of nourishment. This breakfast smoothie is the perfect antidote. It’s quick and easy to make, so if you’re in a rush trying to get out of the house in the morning, you can just whizz it up in the blender in a matter of seconds.

Nutritional goodies

The humble cranberry is one of the most nutrient-dense fruits. Cranberries are not only a good source of fibre, but also naturally rich in:

  • Antioxidants (including Polyphenols)
  • Vitamin C
  • Proanthocyanidins (PACs)

And to top it all off you’ve got slow release energy from the oats, fibre from the kale and loads of vitamins in the blackberries. In other words this is the Breakfast Smoothie of champions!

These whole berry juices sounds great, and a real nutrient booster. As a busy mum and food blogger who is very health conscious I’m always looking for time saving ways to stay on track with my clean eating lifestyle – these juices look just the ticket, so I’ll keep my eyes peeled for them in the supermarkets! I’m also a big fan of oats in a smoothie – makes it so thick, creamy and filling – much more substantial for a breakfast, eh? Charlie x
