Continuing my quest for coffee-related recipes for the Coffee Set Match challenge being run by Wimbledon sponsors Lavazza, I came up with this chilly milkshake.
After a two hour power march around a very sun-drenched Ealing, I decided my usual steaming cup of hot coffee would be better replaced by something ice cool.
Using my nifty Morphy Richards milk frother I poured in ice cold milk, freshly brewed espresso and some caramel ice cream – frothed it up and bingo bango DONE! I topped it off with a Wimbledon-esque strawberry.
It’s super smooth and oh-so-drinkable and it lasted, ooh about, 15 seconds! Highly recommended if you need your caffeine hit but want to stay cool 🙂
Iced espresso and caramel milkshake
(makes 2)
250ml milk
2 shots espresso (I used Lavazza Dolcemente as it’s well-rounded smooth and creamy)
2 tbsp caramel ice cream
1. Pour all the ingredients into a blender or milk frother and blitz thoroughly until smooth and bubbly-topped.
2. Pour into two glasses and garnish with a strawberry.

Yum yum yum yum yum!!
I reckon I’d like this, even though I don’t like milky coffee I do really like milkshakes. And I have some caramel ice cream at home so I’m thinking I’ll have a go at this tonight.
On a totally unrelated note, where did you get the gorgeous little teacup in your post about the milk frother? I absolutely love it and want one for myself!

heheh glad you like it! Let me know how you get on with it tonight.
The cup in that other post is my absolute FAVE – it’s what I always have my daily coffee in. It’s actually really big and was a gift from my best friend Jenny a few years ago – I think she may have bought them in The Pier, but it’s closed down now 🙁

Oh yum! It takes a lot for me to stop drinking coffee but this heat has had me switching over to iced coffee instead. This looks delicious Katie, and I’m not going to turn down an opportunity to have just a little bit more ice cream!

get that ice cream out Sian – you know it makes sense 😉
