My favourite Italian dish is gnocchi with creamy pesto sauce. I’ve mastered making my own gnocchi at home (just about!)but I can’t get the hang of creamy pesto sauce, so when I eat it at home I serve it with a cheese sauce, or a spicy tomato sauce (but given the opportunity, when dining out, I have it with creamy pesto sauce) ….

  137. sue willshee says

    April 30, 2012 at 6:43 pm

As a veggie I used to love going to Italian restaurants because they always had loads of Pasta or Pizza dishes that I could eat. But when I was diagnosed coeliac and had to give up gluten I was suddenly deprived of both pasta and pizza! I’ve tried a few Italian restaurants since, asking if they do gluten free, but they just look at me as though I’m mad. So my favourite Italian dish now is my home made gluten free lasagna. It may not be as posh as going out to eat but it’s healthy and I love it 🙂

Beautiful little book the audience were all given Beautiful little book the audience were all given at last night’s performance of #Here from @curious.monkey_ at @northern_stage. Such a powerful performance from the talented cast bringing together individual stories of what it means to seek sanctuary in the North East, the friendships that are forged and the spark of hope that refuses to be snuffed out. With the plight of refugees so visible right now, the timing of this performance was impeccable. #RefugeesWelcome #togetherwithrefugees🧡 #StoryCollectors
