The Christmas holidays are zooming towards us – and once school is out you’ll be needing little projects to keep the kids busy in the run-up to the big day.
Trips to the numerous festive-themed events put on for kids at this time of year can really add up, so why not bundle your brood into a nice cosy kitchen and get cooking?
Whether it’s helping out with the dinner, making edible gifts or home-made tree decorations, there’s a gazillion things you can get them stuck into.
Head on over to read my feature on the Channel 4 Food website for loads of tips and advice on cooking with the nippers over the festive season. They also have some brilliant recipe ideas to get you started.

we haver a tradition of home made sweet mince pies. kids do varying tasks dependant on age ( roll pastry, cut shapes, add filling, put on lids) its a right family affair and loved by all. We always make sure that we leave 1 out for Santa as well., he seems to like them
