My mum is extra special because she had 7 of us children, bought us up fantastically even with no money. My dad can no longer work and she works so many different cleaning, babysitting and caretaking jobs to pay the bills, and still manages to keep a smile on her face. She is a wonderful grandmother to her 14 grandchildren and a true inspiration to any mum.
It’s only as I’ve gotten old that I’ve learnt to really appreciate everything my mum has done for us, and there isn’t much I could do to show her how much she means to me than tell her how special she is to me every time I see her. She is my best friend and I wouldn’t change her for the world.

My Mum is special, because after 2 abusive marrages and 4 children including myself my mum has kept strong for all of us. shes my insperation. my mum and nan are both very special people because they are both taking care of their husbands who are very ill with cancer and they both still find time to be cheerful and to do things as a family even though they are going through tough times. They are both very strong woman and set a fab example to me and my daughter and i hope my daughter turns out to be like them so i would love either my mum or nan to win but if not they are always special ladies in my eyes xx love you both xx

My mother is the kindest and straightest person I know. She knows me, and what’s good for me, better than I do
My mum helps me out all the time as i’m a single parent with chronic ill health, she works and yet still finds time to ensure we are alright.
My mum is sadly no longer with us but she is special. She lovingly looked after Alzheimers patients while a nurse, gave them care and dignity and made the ends of their lives comfortable. Then she succumbed to it herself but fortunately she was very well cared for too.

Mum (in her eighties) cares as much for us now we’re all grown up as she did when we were children, and she’s expanded the love to take in all the grandkids, spouses and all the extended family. She seems to have a limitless supply of love to go around.

My mum travels 150 miles each way every week to look after my daughter for 2 days while I work. She is one in a million and would adore this prize x

At over 80 years old, my Mum helped the police to catch a violent conman! Instead of giving him the money he wanted, she gave him a cup of tea. Then the minute he left her house, she phoned the police and said “A man has just tried to con me out of hundreds of pounds. I have a teacup with his fingerprints all over it.” He’s now in prison having admitted dozens of offences.

My mum is so special because even though she has Vascular Dementia now and can’t remember much when she smiles I can still see my mummy from when I was a child.
My Mum is always there for us, always willing to give.
She’s been a mother and father to me.
My mums great, I am usually looking after her as she has bad arthritis and gout, but as I ‘ve had a knee op this week she is still there for me! Doing what she can!

My Mum was very special, and although she isn’t around any more, she gave me the gift of a fabulous relationship with my Grandmother – who is 80 and will be the recipient of this prize if I win. We speak on the phone all the time, she stood next to me at my wedding, she loves my boys with all of her heart and still has her arms open for a hug whenever required!!

And it isn’t just me who thinks so – she’s been adopted by lots of my friends because she’s so much fun!

Every Mum is special but we would all say that our mum is the greatest, my mum IS the greatest, well to me anyway. She’s stood at my side throughout my being diagnosed with MS, held my hand when my children were born and later when we found out that my eldest son was autistic. She opened her doors to us when we were fleeing domestic violence and never once has she questioned my decisions just been there for me when things don’t work out.

Funny, caring, beautiful and lovely are just some of the things that make my mum so special. My best friend, my strength and my families’ world. Mum always has a funny story to tell, whether it’s getting her arm stuck in a steering wheel when turning a corner in her car, or being tipped out of a rubber ring by young men on holidays, there is never a dull moment!

Her Roast Dinners!
My mum is great because even though I moved out officially last year, she’s always happy when I come home to visit. She looks after my dad who is ill and my three sisters who haven’t took it upon themselves to move out yet, and the dog! She’s the best mom I could ever have asked for 🙂

My mum is special to me because she brought up five children and did so within a loving family. She sacrificed so much for us and even still continues to guide us even though we all have families of our own.

I think my mother in law is great and would love this as it is 12 months since she lost her son and is still struggling to come to terms with it, but if i needed her to jusdt listen to me or help with my children she is there straight away

My mum’s so special as she has over come so many obsticals in her life and is such a wonderful lady. Although she is not my birth mother , there has never been a day that I haven’t seem her as my mum and she hasn’t seen me as her daughter. She has always had a smile on her face , even though her battle with cancer, and has always been there for myself as well as her other 3 children.
She tells us every day how much she loves us and how special and important we are to her. She has helped me through many hard times including the death of a very dear family member , and without her , I don’t know what I would have done.
She is my rock as well as my best friend. I love her to pieces and would just love a chance to show her how important and wonderful she is , and be able to treat her for once .

My mother died when I was only 11 years old, so Mother’s day was always very hard for me until I had children of my own. My mam was very special and made sure me and my 4 siblings were always put before herself. I’m sure she would have loved being a nana, so will be looking down on my kids.

would love to thank my lovely mum for being the best mum in the world and for teaching me so much about life (good and bad!) but sadly i can’t .it’s been over 12 years now and i love and miss her still everyday .my beautiful daughter is 14 this year on my mum’s birthday (they sadly only shared one birthday together) but we always get together on mother’s day , my dad , sister and my three kids and hubby of course !! wouldn’t have it any other wayxxxx…thank god for loving families

My mum is very special because nothing is too much for her despite been 82 despite all her painful medical conditions . She took care of my dad until he passed away with cancer. She suffered a broken knee cap and with determination she manged to will herself to walk again. She always manged to turn frowns upside down !

my mum is very special, about 6 years ago she broke her back in a fall but despite being in pain a lot of the time she never complains and gets on with things, she recently had another fall, breaking her arm but still comes to help at brownies every week,she is always smiling, always willing to help others she is a winderful woman
