Valentine’s Day this year will be steak and chips with our 8 month old at the usual time, then once she’s gone to bed, we’ll have a naughty pudding – maybe a trifle, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream or some gooey chocolate brownies! Then an early night **wink wink

This Thursday just gone, my wonderful boyfriend became my wonderful husband but Valentines Day is also extra special for us because it’s the day that we actually met so this year, since it’s our first one as husband and wife, I’m going to do nothing and act like any other day, sending him to his friend’s house in the morning and recreating how we met while he’s out (arts and crafts is not my strong point so it will look awful but hopefully be obvious what I was trying to do). I’ve been hand-writing some of the nicest things we said to one another over email whilst we were living in different countries so they can be stuck up on the walls around the house along with all the saved tickets from trips we took and some of the best photos of us together. He has a really sweet tooth as well so in the evening when he gets back, we’re bypassing dinner in favour of Strawberry Hearts, (only the most perfectly shaped strawberries, halved and the flat edged dipped in dark chocolate and honey, chilled for several hours) and a bottle of pink champagne, the same as we had with our wedding toast and finally a hand-rub for him with my very best hand cream since his hands are always really dry and he loves being pampered but would never admit it and ask for one!
Hubbie is working till late so just a box of choccies!

Well…I don’t have a “Significant Other” at this moment in time. Therefore, I will be turning my attention to my gorgeous 7 year old son spending the day with him (it’s half term = bonus!) Well I’m not normally big on Valentine’s Day but we’ve had such a tough time lately that I thought I’d get my act together this year. So I have this baking book and in it is the most delicious looking cake – it’s chocolate and is in the shape of a box and in it you place actual chocolates. So that’s my aim, to make a beautiful box of chocolates with an edible box and beautifully decorated with ribbon.

In the morning I’m gonna make heart shape pancakes with caramel for breakfast in bed, then because my partner had a accident last week he has a appointment at the fracture clinic in the afternoon I know not very romantic but when we get back I’m gonna run him a nice hot bath with candles, for the evening I’m making his favorite dinner steak, chips onion rings, veg and the best bit mushrooms and onions cooked in Tia Maria and cream. Then hopefully share a nice box of chocolates in bed. <3 and ya neva know I might even give him a back rub

with a busy life style and two children, my partner and i never get chance for romance, however this feb the 14th, i will try and cook a meal, have a bottle of wine (with a broken foot) atake time to just sit and enjoy our time together……..the main thing is i will tell him i love him and give him a home made card as i cant get out to buy one !!!
I’m going to start with a home-cooked three course meal with a beautifully laid out table with good decoration. I will then watch a dvd to let our food go down, i will then give him a back massage and run him a hot bubble bath with candles, so he can relax. I will then put on my best PJS, my best bed quilts and lay out a romantic setting with another dvd, and a night of passion and cuddles ahead!

well this is my first year having a valentines but unfortunately he is in hospital so i will be spending my valentines day alone or on a hospital ward
. but theres always next year! and i will try to spoil my valentine as much as i can with him being nil by mouth !

Fancy meal at home
For my wife and I’s 1st Valentine’s Day celebrations this year, we’re going to enjoy a hot-air balloon ride over my home city of Edinburgh with a celebratory glass of champagne to mark the occasion. I’m taking him out for a meal in a good local Indian restaurant.
I will giving my husband brekkie in bed with i love you in the toast, serving him endless cups of tea while he is in the office, followed by a lovely meal at dinner and a facial ( he loves them ! ) and a massage.
A cup of tea and breakfast in bed, and a nice steak and chips meal after work, with a bottle of his favourite red wine.

I will be spoiling my other half by attempting to make my first ever cake pops, after receiving a book on them for Christmas! Hopefully they’ll go well… my idea is to make them heart shaped covered in a red shell, with little faces on!
